HELPFUL HINTS FOR APPLICATION OF DIAMOND HEADS |
|
|
|
Diamond Heads are a piece of jewelry and application should not be rushed. To obtain the best results, please follow these simple instructions
- Diamond Heads are made to go into wood. They are not a button and should be used where you would normally use brass upholstery nails
- Use template tool provided for appropriate spacing of nails, we have found it easier to use a nail and puncture the fabric to create a guideline. Do NOT hammer nail all the way into the wood, leave template in place until row is applied, remove template, then proceed to hammer nail in deeper.
- Always use the hammer tool when hammering in the nails to provide protection for the threads on the screw
- Do not hammer the nail into the furniture too far; it makes it more difficult to screw on decorative setting
- Keep hammer tool consistently straight up and down while hammering in the nail
- If your wood is very hard, hammer the nail in slowly to prevent bending and shifting. Extra nails are provided in the event this should occur
- If removal of nail is necessary, simply pull straight up with pliers
- Once placed, a rubber mallet may be used to tap the sides of the stone setting; this should not hurt the stone.
- Use a damp cloth to polish and remove finger prints
